Bismarck Combat Sports is happy to be brining in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Luis Pantoja. Luis is the instructor for the Yamasaki Academy in Washington DC.
All proceeds from the seminar are going to support Andre Margutti, a BJJ practioner who was recently diagnosed with cancer. See:
www.andremargutti.org
for more information.
Seminar will be entirely No-gi and the seminar fee is a free will donation ($50 suggested).
Seminar is August 28th

Do you know if there will be any younger guys there? My kid (11) has always liked grappling, and even more so since he did so well at last Nov's submission hunt in Mnpls.

As of right now there aren't any younger guys that I am aware of.
Is Alek still over at Reis?

No. He raised his rates too high, and required a 3 year contract. That is just crazy especially for a kid, not to mention just a couple months before our 1 year contract was up, he sent out an email saying he might have to close down soon if he didn't start getting more students. I offered $1,500 for another year which is still almost triple what I paid for the previous year, and he said no, as it would not be fair to the other people who signed 3 year contracts. Alek went to that Bismarck Bushido place on broadway, for a few months after wrestling was done, but we weren't real crazy about that. If you get any younger/smaller guys at your place let me know, as he wants to go there if you get someone his size to roll with. We stopped in one night last spring to look around, you weren't there, but Alek saw Chris who we knew from boxing and we seemed to think it looked like you guys were actually learning stuff, not just goofing off.
